John: Wack nap

So I woke up from my nap at seven. At first I thought this was a bad thing but then I realized that I didn't really fall asleep till 5:30, so this was an even hour and a half. I woke up and left the room and, upon reentering, noticed that my alarm was going off. This means that my alarm clock is dying and that I woke up naturally, kinda.

Mixed news, I guess.

Nick: I Don't Get It

I woke up this morning at 6am. Got out of bed. Turned off my alarm. Was awake... Then I woke up again at 9am. I don't get it. I don't remember getting back into bad and going back to sleep but I clearly remember being awake at 6. Johnny and I both slept til 9 today (I called him and woke him up when I finally got up). We need to stop this!

Nick: Tenth Day

I'm going to start this post with yesterday's nap. Since I allowed myself 90 minutes extra nap on Friday night and I moved my nap 90 minutes earlier yesterday (to accommodate plans), I found myself laying in bed for the majority of my nap not being able to fall asleep. Johnny reports I did fall asleep for some of it as he heard me snoring, but I swear I was awake the whole time. So I fell asleep nicely last night at 3am.

Johnny and I woke up this morning at 6am, sat around until 7:30 (my internet was down so there wasn't much to do...), and then Johnny left. After he left, I ended up crawling back into bed and sleeping until 10am (dammit!). I really need to cut this out.. no more oversleeping. In order for this schedule to start fully working I have to force my body to adapt.. and oversleeping isn't helping. So I wasn't able to nap very well this afternoon either since I got so much sleep last night.

Tonight I will sleep from 3-6 and ONLY until 6. I plan to wake up and wash my car. Hopefully this works out.

John: Big Number 10!

So yesterday I ended up skipping my nap, not because I didn't have time but because I couldn't fall asleep. I slept the normal 3-6 without any problems except a little groggyness in the morning. I feel pretty normal right now but I am looking forward to my nap.

Kevin: 80:8

I didn't sleep again last night. I feel a lot better today than the morning after I stayed up all night 2 nights ago. In the last 80 or so hours, I've only gotten around 8 hours of sleep. But other than slightly blurry vision and an auditory hallucination here and there, I seem to be functioning properly. The every-other-daysic sleep schedule is working better than I would have expected. However, I would not recommend this sleep pattern to anyone. If it is totally necessary, it seems that the body is capable of sustaining on the utmost minimum amount of sleep, for short periods of time at least. I am tempted to keep this pattern up and see what happens, but with finals and a ski trip coming up, I am concerned that I will become highly susceptible to sickness, which would be a big bummer for the ski trip. I guess it might also suck for finals, but mainly for the ski trip.

Nick: Ninth Day

I gave myself an extra sleep cycle this morning (3am-7:30am). I was feeling real tired yesterday and now I feel much better thanks to a little extra sleep. I should still be tired enough to fall asleep this evening too (although this evening I will be napping from 5:00-6:30 so Johnny and I can make it to our 7:30 plans in time.. +1:30 in the morning and -1:30 in the evening. We'll see.).

John: What?!

So it's 10:15 and I just woke up. My alarm was set for 5:25 (I tried to move the 3-6 portion forward 30 minutes or so, turns out that didn't work) on both my cell phone and normal alarm clock. I don't remember turning either one off. Let's see if this messes everything up. I read about some other people who did this and they said they would give themselves a couple extra cycles on the weekends, kinda like sleeping in. Maybe this will just be like that. This was three extra cycles, two if you count the one I missed on friday.

Good news: I do feel energized. The only problem is that I don't know if I'll be able to fall asleep for the nap this evening. Also (relatively) good news: This was probably the best time I could have over slept because it was a weekend and the only plans I had were with Nick.
